I work with all ages and all types of problems that people have, but I have tended to specialize in work with kids, teens, and families, people who have chronic disease (especially diabetes), men, women, or couples with sexual problems, and individuals who want to develop better skills at self calming. (See list below)

Philosophically I believe those who seek therapy are more interested in how much a therapist cares and how well they can listen, than how much a therapist knows. I think I qualify on both fronts in that I have 36 years experience and knowledge combined with the ability to sit with you through tough times that you can’t fix.

I believe when you have pain you want it to go away, so do I. This usually leads us to seek a quick cure, and if you can do that great, some psychotherapy does this too. Much of the time, however, we would be better to determine what is upstream from our current problem in order to seek a more lasting solution. That is what psychotherapy is about, not just acute problem solving, but more in-depth understanding and clarity about how to prevent future flare ups. If this sounds like something you might like to do please give me a call.
